AQED is the largest homeschooling community in Quebec! Since 1997, it informs, inspires and brings together parents in Quebec. Through its annual conference and information sessions, its Facebook groups and page, its YouTube channel and Instagram account, as well as all its other activities, AQED is the voice of home education in Quebec!
AQED is there to inform all families in Quebec on subjects related to home-education, such as:
- The first steps to take;
- The obligations and laws in Quebec’
- Different ways of doing things (pedagogy, materials, etc.);
- Suggestions for resources and other information.
Our volunteers are available to answer your questions in order to help you begin homeschooling in Quebec.
AQED members can benefit from personalized support, including:
- Verification of your documents (LPs, reports, etc.), with comments and explanations;
- Support when communicating with your DEM monitoring agent;
- Assistance during the annual monitoring meeting with your agent;
- Raising awareness with the DYP or your SB/SSC regarding the laws and regulations that govern homeschooling.
It is recommended that you join AQED at the beginning of your homeschooling journey, and that you contact us at the first sign of a problem or conflict. It is sometimes difficult for us to help parents who contact us last-minute. Volunteers on our support team will assess your case to determine if they are able to assist you. Support services include::
- Preparation and accompaniment for a second monitoring meeting with the DEM;
- Recommendations specific to your situation in order to avoid the closure your file;
Consultations with AQED’s lawyers, paralegals, and experienced volunteers are reserved for members who have been active for at least three months and who do not have a legal file prior to joining AQED. For more details, see the terms of use of this service.
No one cares more about their children's education than parents. Being a member of AQED means being part of the strength in numbers, but also being an active participant in the homeschooling community and enjoying the benefits that it brings.
