Regional Poles

All over Quebec, families are choosing to educate their children at home. As this educational choice becomes more widespread, the number of new homeschooling families increases each year.

Support across the province

In order to support all its members across the province, AQED has representatives in different regions of Quebec. These representatives are aware of the particular issues faced by families who are homeschooling in their area.

Their role

A regional representative (RR) is first and foremost a parent volunteer who has chosen to offer their time and energy to help AQED reach more families, wherever they live in Quebec. Each RR adjusts their role according to the needs of their region, their abilities and their interests. Your RR can :

• Accompany you in taking your first steps toward homeschooling, joining a regional support group or helping you deal with challenges that may arise;  
• Pass on news from AQED in their region and organize meetings with AQED members;
• Defend and support your right as a parent to educate your children in the way you prefer, while ensuring that your children's right to a healthy and balanced education is protected;
• Raise awareness and inform the public about the right of parents to choose to educate their children at home;
• Provide you with access to educational materials (mobile manipulatives) from AQED.

Mobile manipulatives

AQED has an array of manipulatives available to its members to make learning more concrete. To date, 16 sets travel from one region to another. These sets are arranged by theme:

AQED members can borrow these materials by signing a loan agreement and/or paying a deposit.
