As you may have noticed, since November, AQED has an agreement with the Astrolab offering free sessions to its members on diverse themes surrounding astronomy. This follows a Facebook post by one of our members. Natasha Lamoureux, Montérégie Regional Representative (RR), offered to contact the Astrolab for a free session. The Astrolab appreciated the mission and values of AQED so much that they offered not one but 13 conferences! There are therefore 13 different themes to be explored.  Please note, these conferences will be held in French only. As of today, six free 45-minutes sessions have been viewed by 591 children in 6 different regions, under the coordination of the RRs.

Good news!  There are other sessions to come between January and April 2021.  We invite you to take part in these activities when they are announced by the RRs on AQED’s members-only Facebook group.   To register, just fill in the online form accompanying  the announcements with your name, your membership number and the number of children participating.  You will receive a confirmation with the link to participate.

Here are the upcoming themes (all presentations are in French):

  • January 12th, 10:30 AM - Les mystérieux trous noirs
  • January 12th, 3:30 PM - La station spatiale internationale
